Each year, 6 million people in the United States seek treatment for an acute or chronic wound.
The Penn Wound Care Center, operated by Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, provides comprehensive care for patients with chronic wounds. Located on the Penn Medicine at Rittenhouse campus in Center City Philadelphia, a multidisciplinary team of podiatrists, vascular surgeons and nurses certified in wound care provide comprehensive care for wounds caused by:
- Diabetes
- Constricted blood vessels
- Pressure
- Leg swelling
- Vascular disease
- Other chronic conditions
And as part of Penn Medicine, the center has access to nationally and internationally recognized physicians and programs, including Penn Hyperbaric Medicine. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy accelerates wound healing and Penn has the first multiplace chamber in the region.
